How To Save Output In Dev C++
So far, I've found Dev-C the easiest IDE to do this in. However, I still have one problem. Whenever I run my compiled code, for example: a simple hello world program, it runs, but the console window just flickers on the screen, and I can't see the output. Installation

Here, select the 'Settings' tab, and within it, the 'Code Generation' tab. There, in 'Language standard (-std)' select 'ISO C++ 11':

Compiling console applications
To compile and run simple console applications such as those used as examples in these tutorials it is enough with opening the file with Dev-C++ and hitF11
